The coach has some previous owner "hacks" such as a replacement front couch, plywood mounted heater controls without the center a/c vent and an aftermarket steering wheel so the cruise control is mounted on the turn signal. Does anyone have an opinion about whether the NADA price guide is way off or the sellers are way off? While fixing an exhaust manifold leak on the driver's side of the engine we noticed that the shifter cable end hooked to the transmission is very rusty, the cable wires exposed and really in bad shape --looks like it could break off any second. (Probably the reason for difficulty shifting.) --any suggestions on where to find a replacement shifter cable? --any tricks to getting the old one out and new one back in? Also, ... Any idea what the oblong plate is on the right side of the carb on the engine? Mine has rusted and there is a hole in the intake manifold. Ford says it is a crossover pipe for the carb thermostat but where does it go. I'm trying to get the two bolts off it and replace the part, if we can find one? Does the engine have to have that part or can it just be blocked?
